Default cold air intake help?

Hey all, thanks to all the nice and very helpful people on here I am going to upgrade to a GT muffler. I am not looking at an cold air system. So far I really like the look of the Mustang Racing Technologies one h**p://www.mrt-direct.com/2005/Pages/induction.php Sorry I was not sure if live links was ok on here. Don't want to do any thing to get banned from here ( I like it here LOL ) I like this unit because it does not look like all the rest. Just would like to hear from someone who has use it before. If anyone has any idea's on a good one let me know.
thanks MLT2

It looks good, but if you want the best bang for your buck there's the C&L intake (even though you said your not looking at a cold air system, but then what is the mrt one?). You can get it in a combo with an xcal2 tuner. From what I've read this provides great results since it breathes more and the throttle lag is mostly taken away, and parameters such as shift points are adjusted. The more popular vendors for this are Bamachips, Alternative Auto, Brenspeed, and Evolution (in no particular order). Evolution is the cheapest I think, $565 for the intake, tuner, and 3 tunes.

Sorry I ment I was looking for one LOL. My typing sucks. You would never know I was a computer tech for a school system LOL. I know so sad LOL. I just ment I don;t like the one's that show the filter out in the open. This one still has a box all most like thw one that is on the car.

Oh ok lol. Well if you really want the box buy it, you could also get a tuner and a tune to go with it but that'll probably cost more than the C&L combo with the tuner and 3 tunes. That mrt one is pretty nice though.

Any Idea how much the C&L intake with tuner combo going to cast. I recieved a quote for 799.00 and 399.00 for install. Does that sound right? It seems high.

That's VERY high. Who quoted you that? Evolution has the C&L, xcal2, and 3 tunes for $565 (I think that's shipped too, but don't quote me I'm not ready to buy it yet so I'm not sure) and the other vendors are close in price. You don't need anyone to install it for you, it's simple. They are trying to rip you off.

Yea, I thought that is was real high price. They quoted me 749.00 for the C&L Intake assembly and tuner. 399.00 to install Air assembly and dyno tune. Thats 1150.00 for a intake. Thats was going to put a big hole in my pocket. If I install it myself. What about the dyno tune? Can I drive it from my house to the some other shop to get it tuned? will it do any damage to the car?

I got my C&L and xcal2 from http://www.evoperform.com/ with 3 tunes loaded (I got 87, 93, and 93 Extreme). They have a great price, as stated in previous post, of $565, plus shipping. I drove there, got two free dyno pulls (before and after), and they installed it for me (I was planning to do the install myself, but once it was up on the dyno, it was quicker and easier for them to do it). It was a long day, as they were setting up their 11-sec 2007 GT500, so they didn't charge me for the installation (they are a shop, so they would have charged normally).

Run away from the guys that quoted you so much $$$. You can order a CAI and tuner from any of the business talked up here, install it yourself, and have an extra $500 to spend on your car for something else.

My Tunable Induction system with the Xcal2 is $ 525., delivered. I'll install it at NO CHARGE if you're in driving distance of the shop.

My V6 system posted the highest gains seen so far by BAMA chips.

Have a great Labor Day!
