3.73 or 4.10 gears?

If you spend time on the highway, 3.73's are the way to go. They are mated perfectly for the auto and Ford should have sold the car like this...I guess that 1-2 mpg is a battle they have to fight.
I have noticed my avergae has dropped from 23.5 to 22 average over about 5 tanks now. That is true 50/50 mix with lots of "entrance ramp accelerations" thrown in for...well...fun.

I've red lots of things - most confusing has been that 4.10s are better for Auto and 3.73 are better for Manual.
Regardless, I've decided on 3.73s for my Auto (think they will be the better option for highway driving as well) but also adding the Traction-lok so I don't just spin one tire... now that I might actually be spinning tires!
3.73s are also what my Ford mechanic friend recommended over the 4.10s.

I think 4.10's are a little steep if it's a DD and you do a decent amount of highway driving. However, if it's all in town and you rarely exceed 60, I'd go with 4.10's for the fun factor.
F.I., I think the best option is 3.73.
