C&L vs AEM Brute force Intake
So ive been looking at getting an intake really soon and im jw what you guys think would be a better buy. The two that ive really been looking at are the AEM Brute Force and the C&L let me know some of your opinions. As of now im leaning more towards the C&L.

If I remember correctly, Doug dyno'd the AEM and it showed no gains over the stock air box. The highest gains we have seen are C&L, Demolet and JLT.

Thats odd. i was looking at the AEM site and they tested it with an 05 auto v6 ( my car) and it showed a gain of 10 hp and 9 tq

haha dude, i've told you time and time again, you aren't going to see great gains without a tune, so you might as well get one of the intakes with larger tubing that requires a tune. You will get better gains overall. Im sure there are some slight gains with the brute force somewhere in the rpm band, but you will see much bigger gains with a tune and at that point you might as well go c&l/TI/JLT.
edit: plus since you have an auto a tune will do wonders for your shifting.

Another benefit of getting a tune (aside from improving shift firmness on autos) is that the torque management system is turned off. That's one of the reasons people feel such a big improvement after a tune. I am waiting to hear about a procedure to turn off the torque management system without having a tune. Once I determine the procedure, I will try it out on my wife's stock 2005 4.0L/auto vert and report my findings.
No regrets with my C&L (and 93 tune), btw...
