Default Ebay intakes

I've noticed a number of inexpensive intakes popping up on ebay lately for the 4.0

Any thoughts?

I never trust those... EVER.

My friend ordered a "custom intake" for his corolla... looks similar to those. It SUCKED. Very poor design, didn't even really fit correctly how it was supposed to. He decided not to return it after talking over with the guy on ebay about "restocking fee's" etc etc and it just came to it wasn't worth the hassle.

Be forewarned... only intakes I trust are name brands that have already been tested and have numerous positive reviews.

I would only get the ones that are respected name brands and have many people backing the results or a company you personally would trust for performance. Buying that cheap ebay intake would be useless u might as well as buy the 20+ Horsepower chip they sell for $5 too lol

CAIs them selfs all will add the same measly 2-3HP, you get the real power upgrades from the tuner, do s197s have air silencers like the older ones? if so it would be just as good to rip out the silencer and drop in a K&N filter
