Default RE: GT Take off Question

ORIGINAL: addison85

I'm having the same issue! I thought it would fit snug just like the V6 muffler. When I attached the new muffler, I even pushed it in enough so the guide pin would lock into the pipe. But still the tailpipe is touching the bumper and I know it will start to melt. I went to Midas and they said all you can do is cut the bumper and make it bigger (which I dont feel very confident to do). I'm gonna try to take it off and reattach it tonight, and adjust the hangars the best I can...
Addison, I took mine to a local midas shop, and for $37.50(1/2 hour of labor) they bent my pipe down slightly so there was enough space between the tip and the bumper. If that midas won't do it, find another muffler shop, but the one in my area was very helpful.

They also said when I am ready for duals, bring them the parts and for $100 they will put them on.
