Default Motive 4.10 DILLEMMA

ok so i've done a lot of reading in search about 3.73s and 4.10s and im about 80% sure im going to go with the 4.10s... However my dilemma is that i think im going to go with Motive Gears. Butsome people complain about theirwhine as opposed to FRPP's products.... does anyone have motive 4.10s??? and how do you like em??? anyone have bad experiences with the motives??? does FRPP make 4.10s for the 7.5???are 4.10s a bad idea for a DD??? Do i have to get a bearing kit for the gear/lsd installation???i know this has been discussed a million times but i feel like i need reassurance before i make my final decision. FYI my car is 05 auto wit about 28k miles...

Some FRPP gears (not all) are made by Motive - look for an "M" suffix after the Ford part number to ID those Ford gears made by Motive. IMO, the knowledge/experience of the installer is more important than the gear brand, in regards to gear whine (except Richmonds, which I hear will WHINE regardless). And yes, you will need a new bearing kit, which your installer can purchase (let them know ahead of time).

I have 4.10's in my 4.0L/5spd coupe, which is my daily driver. I get about 18mpg around town, and 25.5mpg on the highway. I have ZERO regrets with the 4.10's. So far, I'm happy with the t-lok LSD (we'll see during this 2nd season of track racing).

Just a note on gear brand: my installer put in U.S. Gear Corp. brand 3.73's which are supposedly the oem for Ford, GM & Chrysler. They presently have a pretty mild whine but should fade away after break-in. I guess i'll wait and see about that but the current whine is not even bothersome anyways. only noticed with windows up and radio off.

Mine are Ford gears, and the t-lok was rebuilt by Lund Racing with an extra clutch pack. The parts were to be used in a turbo 4.0L, but the owner installed an 8.8" rear from a GT instead. I stumbled across these new parts for a one-time deal of $250, including the bearing kit. I paid $350 to have them installed.

[BTW, my gears whine a little, but it's OK by me]

Had my FRPP 3.73's and tlock in for about two weeks now. Had some whine from the first set-up where the installer set the backlash at .006, The back lash was way too tight. I had them redo the backlash to .011-.012 and almost totally quiet...By the way I got the gears USED ON EBAY!! OMG..[]....but it turned out OK. I spent about $460 for the whole deal including install...and yes you will need a bearing kit as more than likely they will destroy the pinion bearings or races getting your old stock 3.31's out...

i originally had some used gears that i was going to use since they were ford oem's but my shop had some brand new oem's so i went brand new on all parts. also, he told me he wouldnt install used anyways because of prior customer incidents.
