Default RE: Quick Questions

do u have an auto? with mine, i go up to around 5000 or so and shift(i don't redline it)...and it will RUN like that...that's where the power is made on these motors anyways, i believe...don't do it too much - just when i feel the need to put a lil smirk on my face after work(i drive a SUPER slow truck all day...0-60 on it is about 20 seconds FYI), but i've taken all my cars pretty far and not had any problems ever - "built ford tough" LOL

if you have a manual...hmmm...i haven't driven a manual mustang, but i'm assuming you could pry drop it around 2500??? idk really...if you wanted to take off in my stick cars that's all the higher i revved...but i usually just drive normal...clutch and gas evenly for smooth takeoff

you really shouldn't even have to rev that high - i'm just assuming that by 2500 you should about be spinning the back wheel....if you're holding the brake, just gettting the motor revved up a lil bit should give you the take off you need without the unwanted wheelspin/burnout, unless you wanna do that, but if you're going for speed and acceleration, you want as lil spin as possible....

i'll go experiment tomorrow...i was out a lil bit tonight, but it's been raining, so just taking off normal is spinning the tires[8D]

oh, and while i was playing in the rain, i noticed i do wait til almost 5500 before going to 2nd, so still not redlining

Not sure about 0-60 cause I never really have looked into that stat.

As far as the 1/4 mile you should be in the low 15's.
