I saved money by purchasing an entire 8.8" rear end out of a totaled '06 GT which had factory installed 3.73s and t-lok. This modification shaved .3 sec off of my 1/4.

If you want acceleration, and like to go to the track, this is a great mod. If there was a drop in mileage, it's so minimal that I do not notice it.

Another thing to keep in mind though is your rear tire size. If you increase, or decrease the overall stock tire/rim size of 27", it effects the gear ratio.

LSD = limited slip differential, provides torque to both rear wheels (thus the car grips the road 2x better), instead of just the rear passenger side one.

Which means you won't have any more one wheel burnouts if you do that sort of thing

I was just thinking this past weekend how glad I was to have gotten my 3.73's. I use my car as a daily driver and I still get impressed by the throw back in your seat feeling when I tromp on the gas.

Well worth the money, get both the 3.73's and t-lok at the same time, saves money.

I just put in a 3:73 gear and t-lock and it it great.
I have a question on tunes I have the SCT 2 Tuner with 89 91 93 tunes. I am planning on getting a Dyno tune from Joe Da Siva in Toronto (Pickering) Canada and was wondering should I get the 91 or 93 tune done. It is my summer Daily driver.

Joe is the only person I let touch my car. You'll be happy with the work they do. Btw, they just had an advanced SCT tuner trainer flown in a couple of weeks ago, so it's a great time to get a tune. As for the octane question, if you have plenty of Sunoco's around, then definitely get the 93. Good luck and let me know what you think after visiting the shop!

hell yeah get the gears!!!!! i have the exact setup as you. 91 tunes from doug, c&l, and flowmaster. i just got 4.10s on my car and its the sht. i got motives...i had heard so much about how the motives suck and whine. let me tell you that they were wrong.they are silent as the stock gears. the only difference is when you step on it you feel the giddy up right of the bat. and not to mention the two wheel burnouts!!!!! only if you get the trac lok.

i think the whine is more often a 3.73 issue. that seems to be the trend.
