To CAI + Tune or not to CAI + Tune? That is the question
So,
To cold air intake and tune or not to cold air intake and tune that is the question...
I've heard mixed things for the V6. I called my local mustang shop and the tech told me it wasn't worth doing on a V6.
What do you guys think? Who has done it and what tune are you running?
Is it worth dropping $600 or more?

I do not have a Tune BUT I have a manual trany that is part of the reason I have not went that way yet. But I have to Back up all the people on here that have got the CAI and Tune when I here them say after the install it makes a BIG difference. Like NIGHT to DAY. people would not spend $600 on things that in the words of you tech are not worth doing. Does your Mustang Shop do many V6s or are you the first? I think you should do it then put that guy in the passenger side seat floor it and then say to him "Not worth it hum"

just by going around the forums and reading you can probably gather that there is no question whatsoever. everyone reccommends it, everyone who's gotten it done has noticed improvment. I'm still waiting on mine to get here, been waiting for almost 3 weeks now. Should arrive tomorrow (VMP). If you have an auto I can post my opinions tomorrow or saturday on what I think of it, but it'd only be adding to the thousands of posts that are already out there.
and 600 bucks isnt exactly too much money unless you're in debt. and if that's the case you really shouldn't be looking around an enthusiast forum, would be very bad for the wallet!

Yes, a CAI/tuner is worth the investment. I got my tunes (87, 93, race)from Evolution Performance in Aston, PA (local to me), but other quality tuners like Brenspeed, VMP, Bamachips, and Alternative Auto are all highly regarded.
The guy at that Mustang shop probably doesn't think ANYV6 is worth modding. I think my signature pic would refute that!
