Default What is a good starting point on modifications

I have an 08 Mustang Premium, I am looking to eventually build it up to something like a 500 HP daily driver. I am new to this and it is my first mustang so I am looking for advice on where to start. I am in the Navy so it will all be done over a period of about a year to a year and a half depending on deployments and cash. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

well 500hp is a very very large goal.
For starters:
CAI (cold air intake) + Tune will really wake up the stang.
a Nice Dual Exhaust set up
u/d Pulley
but you wont be able to reach 500hp with out F/I
Your going to have to get a pretty big turbo, maybe even two, and of course some nitrous!

For 500 RWHP you will need some major work, might even have to go internal on the engine...

You will at least need some type of forced induction...with a very aggressive tune.

You will also need some exhaust and suspension work.

If your hoping for 500 RWHP, why didn't you get a GT? They are pretty cheap right now.

anything is possible and doable but 500hp for a V6 stang is not practical unless you got plenty of sufficient funds. it would be more practical and cost effective to get a GT to reach your HP goal. i think you will soon realize that after giving your 6er some solid basic mods, the 500hp number will become irrelevant and the actual driving experience will be the #1 factor. with drivetrain upgrade, full exhaust upgrade and forced induction, you may feel like you really do have 500HP and still have a blast driving it . good luck dude.

why do you need 500 rwhp ina DD? its a pain in the *** to get a GT to 500 rwhp let alone drive it every day

your best bet is start with long tubes, catted mid pipe, and a 2.5" dual exhaust, a tune, and a set of 3.73s and a detroit true trac, with TA girdle and stud kit, then suspention, SFCs, LCAs, panhard bar/relocation kit, front swap bar delete, then go to the motor and either a turbo or centri style blower

Some of this is correct...however,

- Don't worry about installing gears and a posi. Just put an 8.8 in with gears already installed, then you can worry about a posi.
- S197's don't need sub-frame connectors.
- Not too sure about taking the front sway bar off on a daily driver 500 RWHP car.

500hp in a daily driven V6 S197? You bought the wrong car if that is your goal. You're going to need alot of money to get that done. You might as well have saved up and bought a used GT500.
