Default Flowmaster American Thunder

So I'm getting duals soon and I was wondering if anyone had dual American Thunders and if they were worth the $400. Or should I just spend half the money and get super 40's or 44's.

I don't know about the American Thunder but the one v6 that I have heard with the 40s on it sounds worse than a rice grinder. I would not consider putting on the 40s.

From what I've heard (On YouTube) they (40's) sound awesome at Idle but, in the higher RPM range they can sound a pretty nasty...Or "ricey" as they say lol

Well take if from someone who has the 40s they can get ricey especially with stock manifolds. Where the mufflers are mounted at the back of the car you have no tailpipes to give tone, so, when the VCT starts to kick in yea it gets ricey. Now first I went with 2 1/2 inch tips and they sounded really ricey at high RPMs, tips make the difference to a point when I put 3 inch tips on it made it much better. Then when I put headers on it, It made a huge difference. It still has a little rice left but any OHC engine is gonna sound different than a pushrod and a V6 sounds different than a V8 but I have had quite a few people ask me if it was a V8

I will try to get a video clip up if I can, but I am ingnorant about that kinda stuff

Please note though, I have Regular 40's not Super's
