Driveshafts - different or the same?
Kicking around the idea of replacing the DS on our 08 V6 pony. So I'm reading up and looking around. Shaftmasters is out of stock but can supply the Ranger DS, looks like they normally have Dana parts(?). I then look at the Spydershaft and the Powerhouse shafts. These two look identical, could it be they're also Ranger shafts? Spyder shows $689, but then in small print below it's 519, same price for the Powerhouse.
I don't want to open up the can of worms that is 50% just slap the Ranger DS on vs 50% you gotta open the diff if you do. Haven't read up enough to lean either way I'll stay Switzerland on that one for now. Need to read up more.
Just hoping someone more knowledgable than I can shed some light on these shafts and if they are in fact the same or different.

I have the Shaftmasters 4" - one of the early ones (in fact it is one of the prototypes). I've put a lot of miles on it and have no complaints at all. One of the best mods I've done. I've not done a direct comparison, but the pictures all the shafts look pretty much the same and weights are pretty close.

Shaftmasters is still the least expensive in price. Wait till they get there stock back up and buy one. A quality product. Very easy to install. I had a vibration in my 05 at 70-75 mph that I couldn't get rid of and there driveshaft cured the problem. The car is very smooth now.

The car felt completely different as soon as I hit the highway. It's hard to explain it if you haven't experienced it, almost like the car was "lighter". Definitely had a much better acceleration and throttle response. I hit the track the weekend after installing the new shaft and hit a new personal best (all of my mods have been one at a time to see the results). I can't recall how much I picked up in the 1/4 mile, just that it was a new best.
I also had a vibration on the highway that the dealer could never feel and blamed on my exhaust. Once the Shaftmasters was on, the vibration was gone. The service manager later on said that he could tell it was different as well and that "maybe it wasn't your exhaust after all".
