The only difference is in the front brakes. The front rotors are bigger, and as a result there is a bigger bracket for the caliper so that it clears the bigger rotor.

The GT rotor is on the left, and 4.0 rotor on the right:

And here is a comparison on the mounting brackets:

GT on the left and V6 on the right

Hmmm...might put that on my list. Any sources for cheap brake takeoffs?

Are the splash shields also the same, seems the larger discs would require larger shields? I know it's been said many times the only thing you need is the discs and the new bracket, but I can't recall any talk about the shields.

The splash shield is the same size as well. It is a very easy upgrade and since the calipers are the same size there isn't a need to remove them and mess with bleeding the brake fluid.

Pull the old caliper and bracket off, pull the old bracket off and put the new one on. Pull the old rotor (there is probably a round clip that is used in assembly to hold it in place, just remove it if you find them). Slip the bigger rotor on and reassemble the caliper and new bracket. I think it took longer to jack the car up than to do the actual swap.

Jim...how do they feel? Seems like a good place to put $100.

I noticed a difference. when I drove away from home right afterward I could feel the extra size at the first stop sign. At the track I was able to come to slow down quicker for the return road, and on the highway I can feel a quicker response when the cars in front suddenly stop.
