Getting the power faster?

did you really buy a mustang for the gas miles? lol. sorry i had too.
but yes the cai/tune will def help you with the throttle lag. bama does amazing things with the shift points and firmness of the automatics. will def wake your car right up. best bang for the buck mod on our cars. then if you still want more get the gears. get ride of the stock 3.31's and go with 3.73 or 4.10's.

Well about the MPG I knew when buying the stang it wouldn't be superb MPG (although its better than my old 4banger Mazda 626). I can't complain at all with the Highway driving, sometimes I get close to 30MPG, the best I've got was 29.5mpg highway... hand calculated.
But I drive this car about 50 miles on average every day 80% city driving and a reduction in MPG would hurt a bit.
I think I'm going to check eBay for a tuner. What should I go with and why? Whats the difference between tuners, dont they all do the same thing??
And if I put a 91 octane tune on my car and need gas somewhere and can't find a gas station with 91 octane then would I be able to upload the factory tunes and put in any gas? Or would doing that damage the engine??
Also these tuners alter our cars in the way they perform, does this put a lot of stress and decrease the life of our engines?

I would go with the popular bama, I used a Xcal and Diablo. Both worked fine but I liked the Xcal the best. If you don't have a place that has 91 all the time. Then do the tune that has the octane rating that is readily available to you at gas stations.

I wouldn't get a tuner from ebay as they are locked to a certain car. They can be unlocked by a tune dealer, but you might as well just get a tuner and the tunes from a dealer. I have the Xcal2 with 3 Bama tunes. Running the 91 performance tune.

No, randomly uploading tunes will not hurt. Do not get one off EBay. Get a combo pkg from BAMA. You select the octane. I got the 91 race, 91 torque and an 87 performance for that "just in case I couldn't find 91". So take the tuner with you on a road trip. The tuner holds 3 tunes plus the stock factory tune.
Oh, and one more FYI...not to scare you or anything....but, if while you're uploading the tune and all of a sudden the handheld freezes up and you speedo/tach quit working and the ODB2 loses power and doesn't recognize the tuner anymore...simply replace fune #8 behind the passenger side kick panel. Not sure if the XCAL 3 has this problem, but I know the XCAL2 does. Rarely happens, but if it does...you'll know what to do.
