Default Best Tuner for 05 V6 Mustang?

I have a 2005 Mustang V6 with FRPP Duel Exhaust and a CAI.

The weird thing about the CAI is that It's one that didn't need a tuner to take effect.

BBK Cold Air Intake (2005+ V6) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

What I was wondering, is what would be the best tuner to buy to go along with this intake, and should I buy a new intake to go along with the tuner for maximum effect, or can I save money and keep my intake and get good results still?

Thanks!

I've checked it out, and it sounds good. Problem is, I don't know where to find my Axle Code or Gear Ratio, and I don't know what tunes to request.

I don't know much, if anything about tuning so bear with me

The stock 2005+ mustang v6's have a 3.31 rear gear ratio (stock).

Request tunes for the highest octane you can get at the gas station. For example, I live in New York. Gas pumps here typically offer 87, 89, and 93 octanes. I ordered an 87 Performance tune, 93 Torque tune, and 93 race tune.

Torque tunes are daily driver friendly. Performance and Race tunes are the fun ones, especially the Race tune. I highly recommend including the Race tune in your choice of 3 tunes.

I live in Florida, and we have the exact same gas if not very close I'm pretty certain It's the same numbers.

So I will order the same three as you did.

So in short, I just purchase this

http://www.bamachips.com/store/index...roducts_id=174

And fill out the info, and he'll include the 3 tunes or do I have to buy them separately?

Thanks

I got 3 tunes from Doug, but I only used the race one really. That was my DD tune. IMO it's all you really need, unless you want a lower octane tune.

Okay I'm pretty sure he includes the 3 tunes if you buy a product from his site.

Do some of these tuners work on a V6 and a V8? Like if I trade my car in for a V8 could I use the tuner for that as well?

Yes you can use the same tuner as long as it is unlocked from the first car (return the first car to stock). Then you can upload three new tunes for the new car to the same hand-held tuner. But the V6 tunes will not work on a V8 car [/Capt Obvious]

Thanks.

So I have to switch to premium gas to get the most horse power if I put it on "race" correct?

That kinda sucks! haha

And do I have a body shop install the CAI first before I put on the tuner?

I was really hoping could keep mine. -_- money is so short now
