Default Advanced CAI advice?

So i've read about alot of threads on CAI's. I was given this idea by one of the Ford mechanics while my alignment was getting adjusted. He told me most mustang owners have a large CAI. Some even have a 3" inch exaust going all the way from the headers to the tail pipe.

BUT since your wheel well has a hole smaller then a quarter your still losing high amounts of airflow. His fix for this was "to cut a 3" inch hole and run a pipe to his CAI."

I would guess waterlock and noise might be an issue but i wanted to know if anyone has experience with this?

Just get a proven CAI. C&L, tunable induction seem to be the most popular.

i get what your saying but if a hole was cut, the car would be getting more air into the engine than needed, this will cause codes to throw. the code will come from your MAF sensor the only way to clear the code it to flash the ECU with the correct air ratio which you wouldnt be able to measure.

Go with the C&L intake i could not believe the difference, i researched for over 8 months before i got it and it is recommended by almost everyone

Heres my write up:
