Default Questions about stock v6 motor

I posted this in the v6 forum and they told me to ask here to see if anyone else would know.

-Was looking around and couldn't find the stock compression ratio for the 2005 4.0L engine. Also was curious as to what the pistons are made of, (aluminum obviously, but forged or what?). Reasoning behind this is I was thinking of putting a blower in it and need to figure out if I'm going to need bigger fuel injectors/pump, different pistons and/or connecting rods. Talking to a guy I work with, said that if the pistons and rods aren't high quality, all the excess heat from the blower could do damage to them. Any redirects, links, answers, or suggestion s welcome!

Your best bet is to buy an intercooled x-charger hi-po kit & tuner and also the 8.8 ford rear axle. You don't need anything else, and there is nothing better short of using meth cams and heads on that same setup. It's the best selling kit for a reason. You need 39 lb injectors for any blower and the pistons are forged. Your friend seems to know as much about the inner working of the 4.0 v6 as he does about quantum physics, but I bet he has an opinion on that too if you catch my drift.

Anyways, I hope that suggdestion helps you make the right choice.

looks like youve got the 05, with that much torque being produced the 05 driveshaft will not hold up.

I know a guy who had his go out on the dyno, Would have taken everything out if he did not have the GT H Pipe set up, that caught it, but just imagine being on the freeway

Unless you go over 400 hp, you'll be fine with the '05 internals.
The stock rear end is weak and needs upgrading.

Running a blower or turbo on these is quite nice, but yes you will need bigger fuel injectors, and of course, a good tune.
