Default GT brakes and upsized rims

Hi,

Did some searching on the forums and found plenty of info on upgrading my brakes to the GT version. However, I could not find out if upgrading the brakes is required immediately for 18" rims. I am going to upgrade to some fanblades but want to spread out the upgrade cost (rims, tires, TPMS sensors, bands, GT brakes) a bit. Can I keep the V6 brakes for awhile with the 18" fanblades before upgrading them or should I just purchase the brakes first and install them while putting on the rims?

yes you can, the fanblades will fit fine. its the 18" bullets that have a chance to rub on the caliper

18" OEM Fanblades with V6 brakes, yes.
18" OEM Bullitts with V6 brakes, no.

Thanks for the replies guys. I just installed my fanblades today and they look SOOO much better than the factory 16"s. Now I am just waiting on my brake parts and I will be good to go.
