H pipe or X pipe?

H pipe or X pipe?
Last year I purchased 2 takeoff GT mufflers. I installed the Pass side on my V6 and I love the sound. But as most know, it's a friggin Mustang and Deserves Duals..
So what is the difference between X and H pipes?
I see that NewTakeOff has this.. http://www.newtakeoff.com/mustang_V6...2005-2009.aspx
Anyone have these? Are they good?
Kinda thinking that since I already own the mufflers, this might be a waste to get this kit...
So on that note anyone offer another solution option? Was looking to keep entire cost of parts and install to a minimum.
Any advise is apperciated.
Thanks

Both the h-pipe and x-pipe serve the same PRIMARY purpose which is to equalize exhaust pulses from each side. However, the x-pipe also serves a SECONDARY purpose of slightly helping exhaust flow.
The factory h-pipe works very well.

I took mine to a local shop and he did the drivers side for me. He supplied all materials including muffler hangers and welded in an "H". It was around $225. I cut the bumper cover with the car on the lift. I like the sound, I've never heard and "X" V6 Dual to compare it to.

An H pipe will give your exhaust a deeper tone and an X will give a more "exotic" tone and is slightly more efficient, although i'm not sure how much of that you'll feel. I have a video of my custom H + GT takeoff mufflers set up if it would help.

While tone is very important to me, my first priority is performance. X-pipes give better flow and more often than not I think it sounds better. Just imagine this, you have two pipes full of water that run from the front to the back. goes smooth down both sides with no interruptions. now add a connecting pipe in the middle. when the water starts to run from the front to the back you will have the are around the connecting pipe interrupting the flow. the water wants to go straight down the pipe but when its forced to move it takes any available outlet. then you get feed from both tubes clashing in the middle and in the areas where it connects to each of the main pipes. Same happens with air. Now imagine a smooth flowing, no 90 degree turns anywhere, pipe that crosses in the middle but at softer angles and in the direction of the natural flow. X-pipe = better top end because it has fewer restrictions to work against.
