Default '09 V6 Tuning

Does anyone know of someone in the Tulsa area that does tuning on my '09 V6? I need to recal the speedo and maybe some performance tune, or do I just need to buy my own tuner.

You can also purchase custom tunes through companies such as Bamachips or Brenspeed after buying a tuner that allows you to load custom tunes. What are your goals/plans performance wise?

Looking mainly for the speedometer reset and some mpg gain. From what I have read, performance gains thru tuning will help with the gas mileage also. This is just my great looking, fun to drive, descent performing daily driver. I wasn't after a race car.

Sometimes tuning increases gas mileage, but thats only if you keep your foot out of it lol. When you say reset the speedometer do you mean because you got bigger wheels/tires? If so then most of the handheld tuners out there should be able to accomplish that. Just do your research and shop around. Many of the site sponsors have good deals. A custom tune will offer better performance gains than some of the "pre-loaded" tunes that come with certain programmers but may cost more. You may also want to consider getting a cold air intake.

I've tried a couple different tune suppliers and I have to say that in my opinion Doug from Bamachips has the best tunes. Justin at VMP has some good tunes too but I had some issues that didn't affect performance but I wasn't happy with (clunking upon decel, odd noises coming from the engine while cruising between 40-50 mph).

The custom tunes don't typically provide MPG gains unless you specifically ask for one that does except the performance will be for chit. You can adjust your speedo with the Diablo or Xcal handhelds. Best bet is to contact Brenspeed or Bama and see what they can do to make your Stang into a fuel saving turtle. But if you're really interetsed in fuel savings, don't get the CAI & tune combo. Put the $$ you don't spend on the combo into an interest bearing CD and put that $$ towards gas. It's cheaper. But if you want to ENJOY your Stang, get a good combo. They typically add roughly 15-25 RWHP or more.
