they are M/T muffs. I have heard this question before but was not sure why it was asked. Please enlighten me.

Manual tran. mufflers are built more free-flowing and provide a louder sound than the auto mufflers, so they're usually preferable

interesting. That's seems almost too precise that ford engineers would look into that...Anyways, I am leaning to an H-Pipe with the GT mufflers.

I am going to try the single GT muffler first to see if i like the sound, and then go from there. If I like it, I'll go the H pipe route to complete the task

I didn't want a loud V6 and it's not loud. It has a deep, low tone at idle. It's not ricey at higher rpms. The CAI deepened the tone as well. IMO, it sounds great for a 6. I'm really happy with it.

I keep thinking back to my Ford Ranger that had duals/x-pipe and was a 3.0 with flowmasters and it NEVER had a rice sound. Add a whole neither liter and I think I am going to like the sound for this car.

With duals, I doubt anybody is going to tell the difference (sound and/or performance) between "auto" and "stickshift" GT take-off mufflers on the 4.0L, and I'm including a dyno when I say 'anybody'. Again, that's for duals, and quite frankly that's being said IMHO.

i just did this set up gt take offs with custom h pipe at meineke but he would not cut the bumper hole to he put the muffler below the bumper with some temporary welded thing. so i cut the bumper and ordered a driver side muffler hanger. Do i need two hangers on it or can i just use one the one being hooked up cloest to the rear end. thats what one person said and other person said something eles, this is so confusing...

I'm not sure if I understand your question. For passenger side you can reuse the hangers from your stock 6 muffler, for drivers side I thought you just needed one hangar. I'm not too sure because my muffler shop dealt with all that haha
