hey my fellows stangers i have a quick question i plan to convert my 2008 v6 mustang automatic to an 4.6 v8 i was wondering i what else do i need to complete my swap i have the mustang gt suspension already installed do i just need the 4.6 engine with computer,driveshaft,rearend? i heard the auto transmissions are the same that i just need the gt driveshaft for the engine and trans to bolt right up

wrong on the tranz.. v6 is a t5 you need custom bell housing.. you need k member motor mounts, computer, can be done but you need money.. if you got the money i can get you hooked up if not i say supercharge it.. you can see 350 hp.plus

so my automatic trans from my v6 isnt the same from the gt.....hmmm.well yea if you can hook me up i would apperciaten ur help

well i went to the ford dealership here in my area and they say its around 4,000-6,0000

pointless upgrade IMO....if you ware doing this go bigger 5.4, a new 5.0 that is coming out etc

why do you only want to get a 4.6? What HP goals you looking for?

i just want a v8 like i wouldnt mind having a 5.4 but then again i have to swap to an manual trans so i am trying to maintain my trans by bolting up the 4.6 since they told me they are the same on the auto just different driveshaft piece

Does that just include the engine? What about transmission, harness and computer?

no trans just the engine with the harness and computer like if u have a auto trans i heard the v6 and gt are the same they just have different driveshaft

The AUTO between V6 and V8 is the same, the 5R55S. The MANUAL trans are different. The V6 manual is different from the GT which is different from the GT500.
