Default Stock Clutch on the 4.0

Hey guys,
Well after driving my buddies car for a while I began to notice just how different our two clutches were and I began to wonder if this is normal or if my car might have an issue. Basically, he drives an 05 focus st and his clutch is very easy to press to the floor with almost no resistance against your foot at all, my other friends civic has a clutch the exact same way. But when I got into my car it really hit me how firm the mustang's clutch is. It is not insanely difficult to push to the floor but it does have a bit of weight to it. I have read around and read that it may be because the mustang has a higher performance clutch, but I wanted to get your opinions on it.

Thank You

All car models vary. Requiring some pressure is normal on the Mustang

The mustang 4.0 clutch imo is horrible. I've driven clutch on many jeeps in the past 3 years. I get into this thing and it is horribly hard to get used to. I'm tempted to take it back and see if something is wrong with it. There is no consistency to it... If i give it enough gas to get going one day it is the right ammount, another day it'll stall it right out, its crazy just how touchy these things are. I then got back into a jeep and i was fine. it's almost like my gears are too small and more gas is needed to get going then should be..

Man's clutch , you can't compare your Mustang clutch with a civic clutch either there is no comparison there.

Might I suggest some squats or perhaps lunges?
Maybe visit your local Curves Health Club and use the leg press machine.

I have no problem using my clutch, i was just asking about the huge difference between two vehicles clutches, if you read the original post you would know that

Thanks for your useless post

The Mustang's transmission is heavier duty than a FWD transaxle.
Regardless, Ford could have engineered the clutch pedal to feel as light as a Civic or Focus.
But the fact is, most Mustang owners expect their cars to feel more substantial than a 4 banger.
It is what it is.
