Default Traded my 06 Mustang for a new SRT8 Challenger

Within 2hrs I drove new Mustang 5.0 auto, Camaro SS/RS auto, & Challenger SRT8 auto. Note that all the cars were within $500 of each other with the Challenger being the cheapest. All 3 of these cars are awesome but they all drive differently.

Since I wasn't looking for a pure drag car I wanted a car with lots of power down low.

Just looking at the autos the Camaro had the most power down low with the SRT8 a close 2nd. The Mustang 5.0 auto is a dog down low. Above 3000rpms the Mustang pulls the hardest of the 3.

After driving the manual version of these cars. The Mustang is the clear winner but you have to keep the rpms above 3000rpms to get any real power.

The SRT8 road manners are more refined than the Mustang or Camaro and feels like a much smaller car than it is. Mustang will win at a race track but the SRT8 dominates on the street.

Looks are a personal choice so I'll leave it at that.

Our 06 Mustang was a great car for what it was and it took all the abuse we gave it and never broke down. Almost sad to see her go.

We bought the SRT8 Challenger yesterday. They took $8,000 off the MSRP.

The funny thing about the Challenger is that if you look at the raw data it isn't considered near the highest performing of the three, and its price usually hurts it even more. But it's got such a unique style that it's almost in a league of its own and I can't blame anyone for wanting one at all.

Congrats on the great purchase man.

You really can't go wrong with the 5.0 or Challenger. Both badass and beautiful

congrats on the purchase, the challenger is definitely the best out of the 3 if you just want to cruise or go on longer road trips. That 6.1L is no slouch either, can't wait to try out next years 6.4L.

I looked at the SRT8 Challenger last year & they wanted $20K above MSRP and would only give $8K for the Mustang so $8K off MSRP & $11K for the Mustang worked for me yesterday.

The 6.4L would of been nice but I didn't buy it to go racing but I do see a supercharger install in a few years.
