alt. heat shield question

Red face alt. heat shield question

I have a 07 v6 coupe and i noticed that some have a alt heat shield and some dont, why is this. I dont have one.

Probably the same reason some have an A-Arm brace from the factory and some dont.
They either ran out, decided that it was not needed, too costly or who knows.

Only the 2005's came with alt covers, I'm suprised you didn't know that dB .

Yea heated TB FTL! I'm gonna do the bypass eventually when I'm done being lazy.

will a heat sheild fit on my 07 if it does not have one?, and how much would it run me if i baught it at a ford dealer, but i can look for one at a wrecking ward too.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so being the threads on my alternator are about an inch longer to accomodate it as the 06+ threads are just long enough for the bolt.

Never thought of it as a heat shield, but more of a cosmetic cover, as not all '05s had it.
It does look nice as a cosmetic upgrade; the alternator otherwise looks nekid!

Your 2005 didn't have it? I was pretty sure all of them had it or maybe they discontinued it at the end of the 2005.
