Default AM 2005 V6 Project car questions

So I watched a few videos of the 2005 V6 Lime project car the American Muscle is doing on their site.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/2005-v6-project-car.html

I have to say, I'm REALLY skeptical about the claims they're making on the dyno. They're saying they got 40whp from just an intake/tune, Pypes duals, and some heavy 18 inch rims.

I'm really having a hard time accepting those numbers. My GT won't even gain 40whp from those mods. Hell, I pretty much HAVE those mods. I'm running a Brenspeed tune and I have the same exhaust that's on the V6 project car.

Can someone help me out here? I'm not trying to give AM a hard time. I've ordered parts from them before and I encourage everyone to do business with them.

yea ive got a C&L, tune, and magnaflows and i dynoed at 204 whp
unless im at 164 stock, which seems incredibly low for a manual, then yea some numbers are being fudged...
but i guess they are doing a dyno tune and not a mail tune so maybe that pulls out an extra 5-10 hp?

tried watching video but cant right now. does it state that thats the number they are getting at the wheels? or the flywheel? they obviously could bs a few numbers, after all they are trying to run a business. but those wheels dont look too heavy.

and i wouldnt discourage anybody to buy from them either, they have great customer care and great products.

I wish mine gained that much. they could have dyno'ed on a Mustang dyno the first time and then a dynojet the second. nets a 10-15% difference.

I am assuming they used the dyno tune to make those higher numbers.

a dynotune would definately be able to support those numbers. You have to remember, the tune you received from brenspeed was a gerenal mail order tune. Some cars will benefit from it better than others, but there is no subsitute for a dynotune

It only dyno'd at 159rwhp? That's 10 less than my stock 00 V6 had with 125k miles on it.
