I have a 2005 with a BBK (its actually forsale in the Classified section), I can give you an opinion. Its not really improvement you can feel, the only thing you will really feel from it is throttle response. I just took mine off the other day after having it for 7 months to sell and I can tell you the car feels and sounds restricted with the stock intake.

looking at getting a tune along with it, just odd that AM only has the BBK intake and wanting to check all my options

I have the BBK on mine. At crusing speed you will notice a quicker throttle response when you want to pass someone. It's a no tune required item so you know it's not going to make a big difference in your performance. I knew that going in though and just bought the BBK to give the engine bay a better look.

+1,

you can actually get away with the stock airbox and a tune OP.

Be sure to get your tunes from Brenpseed or AM. The canned SCT tunes are garbage. About 80% of the power from a CAI & tune combo comes from a quality tune.

Quick answer, yes. The tuner will definitely give you much more bang for your buck than the BBK.
