I figure my mileage after every fill up, I reset the trip, then when I fill up again I divide the miles on the trip by the gallons I put in= average miles per gallon. I get 325-350 miles per 14 gallons. (I dont go all the way to empty) @ 325 miles I have averages 23 miles per gallon, at 350 I have average 25 per gallon. 27 is what I estimate to get JUST driving 65mph on the free way and not stopping. 23-25 is my normal at fill up. Have had as low as 20 with very aggresive driving.

the best I got was following a big Escalade down to the beach doing 80 for about 2.5hrs and got an amazing 29mpg! I was stoked!!! lol otherwise on the highway w 3.31 in my 7.5 i average 16.7 mpg but thats 80% city 20% highway. I am also doing this swap and actually it will b installed on Thursday at a local shop. I got the 8.8 w/ 3.73s from NTO for $892 shipped. And the person who is installing it has already painted it black for me and the install is $125 so the total isnt too bad, its just working up the money and finnally pulling the trigger to do it. ill post up a thread of install and pics when its done.

And yes the brakes, parking brake, and ABS (if you have them) swap over. The bolt patter is the same and the GT and the V6 share the exact same rear rotors, calipers, and mounting brackets.

Be sure to let us know what you think. And $125 for install is a great price

ET-wise, yes, there will be a noticeable change. Also, someone was saying that your car would dyno less.

If you get the takeoff 8.8 rear axle with the 3.73s and cobra flange thing from NTO like most of us do it is just a simple swap. You can do it yourself or have someone else do it for cheap. I don't know about the brakes but I assume they would.
This, except your current brakes should be fine. The V6 and GT rear rotors are exactly the same.
