Default JET CHIP FOR 2008 4.0 V-6

While viewing YouTube, I saw a "Jet-Chip" being installed on a 2008 4.0 V-6. They claim this very simple install ($ 329.99) wil increase HP at the wheels some 15+. My posted questions are:

What does this do for fuel econonmy?
Are there any other adjunct programs required?
Does this affect the OBD II in any way?

Has anyone on this forum installed this item? If so, what sort of results have you experienced

Cheers

Gary

I can't speak for chips, but a tuner is one of the most popular mods to do.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/sct-sf3-tuner.html

Add a Cold Air Intake for even better performance

For example:

I have this combo and love it

Chips are for eating. We retune, we do not rechip.

Research "CAI & custom tune" on the forum and internet and see what you find. I'd be surprised if that chip did much of anything.

Fuel economy? You want performance AND fuel economy? You can get an economy tune but then you'd be pretty upset when that kid on his tricycle passes you...

The handhelds CLAIM better fuel economy and mpg, but that's usually negated by a heavier foot due to the added power

I would say 98% of the members here go with a Cold Air Intake (CAI) and Tune when they want a little increase in power.
If you are really serious about added power without trading your car in on a GT, buy an X-Charger and you could be in the elite group of X-Men.

I think now they offer an inter-cooler with the set up which would be even better!

Get a tuner for 400 dollars. You can easily get 15hp with a good tune alone. A CAI with the tune will make it even better.

Go with Cortex Programmer. It will add around 10 HP and +17 Torque.
Additional features of this device: enhanced shift points & firmness, eliminate speed limiter, recalibrate speedometer for larger tire sizes, adjust RPM limiter.
My friend got this few months ago & I can say that he more than happy with it.
Also he installed Airaid CAD Air Intake System. Result is incredible, intake added 17HP and +10 torque.
