Default Transmission Rattle

Ok I have a rattle around the transmission but I know we have a Concentric slave cylinder so we have no throw out bearing so I dont believe it is the clutch rattling even though its most likely getting worn. I have a Hurst Shifter but I believe I got the rattles worked out of it. So where could the rattle be coming from. I have heard of a exhaust rattle but where does it rattle at so I have a place to start looking because I currently dont have a lift but I could get access to one if I had place to start looking

Check the TSB's. There's a TSB for a separater plate rattle but I'm not sure if it applies to both the GT and 4.0

Otherwise, other rattles besides exhaust can be from the heat shields.

It just seems to do it when its cold that why I was thinking it was the exhaust. There was a hanger issue or something wasnt there. Anyway my exhaust drones like hell so I figured it might have finally droned something loose

Sounds like heat shields on the catalytics. When they get cold they loosen and that allows them to rattle. When the heat up they swell and the rattle stops. It's pretty common on almost any car these days after you rack up enough miles. They can be tightened up to stop the rattle.

On my last car, the welds on the cat. heat shields had finally broken and they caused a terrible rattle.
