Question Whistling sound at 1500-1750rpm?

Just recently my 2007 v6 has started to make a slight whistling sound right between 1500 and 1750 rpm and I have no idea what it could be..
Here's the information I do have- As far as I can tell it only does it around 1500 to 1750 rpm, it comes from the underside of the car towards the back, it happens at idle and when driving, and it seems to only happen when the engine is at operating temp. If anyone knows anything or has had a similar problem please help...I'm not sure if I should be concerned. Thanks

Whistling will usually mean something in a gaseous state having a particular velocity to cause something to vibrate at it's natural frequency. Since you state the whistle is from the back underside AND at a specific engine speed range, I'd start by looking for an exhaust leak. First, tighten the axleback pipe clamps about 1/8th turn; more if they're easy to turn. The exhaust system is comprised of bolted connections (pros and cons) so a leak at a joint isn't unheard of.

I sat here for a few minutes trying to think what that could be and since it does it at idle it has to be something with that!

You might as well check the clamps just downstream of the Y-pipe (if stock) since you don't mention how far towards the rear the whistle is.

Well I tightened the downstream y pipe clamp and the axleback clamp and still heard it. I listened again outside the car while somebody revved the engine to 1500rpm and I noticed that it's actually coming more from the front of the car. It's hard to hear when standing in front of the car with the hood open...but maybe it's the first y-pipe clamp?

Are you sure it's not coming from your intake?

I have heard in a few cases including myself that the stock air box will make a similar nose that you are describing around the same RPMs!

You notice it is toward the front like "air box front" or "catalytic converter front"? I have an after market intake and it whistles around that range as well.
