Default Take the STS off for warranty work?

Hey Gents-

So ive established that my baby needs to go in to see the dr about 3rd gear synchros (POS T5 )

Since im having them look at it as under warranty, should I uninstall my Short Throw before taking it in?

I probably would, they will probably try to blame the short throw for the problems, even though everyone knows the t5 shouldn't even be installed in a pinto.

It depends. I was having TSB issues where the transmission would grind when cold. I had the Hurst in there at the time and took it in as-is. The dealer initially tried to point to that without even taking down the transmission. I simply let them know I was having none of that and they backed down pretty quickly. Now that being said, if you want truly smooth sailing, then yes. Take the hour to yank out the shifter and put the old one in.
