Its my uderstanding that the car calculates the mpg based on the last 500 miles driven. If you were running it hard and having a lot of fun with it, you could be caught up in that calculation. By reseting it I would think that should do just that...reset it though. You could try unhooking the battery for 20-30 minutes and see if that does anything.

Fuel filter need replacing?

Hopefully somebody with some more ideas will chime in.

speaking on behalf of the forum and someone who didn't listen and installed a bbk CIA without a tuner: uninstall the CIA or get a tuner, or both. 90% chance this will fix it.

AFTER you do this check your fuel, air and spark: fuel filter, spark plugs and air filter and all the plugs and wires associated.

Go fill the tank and reset the onboard at the pump after the fill. DO NOT TOUCH IT until the next fill-up. I'd do that for about 2-3 fill-ups and if your mileage hasn't improved, then reinstall the stock airbox, reset the PCM and go thru another 2-3 tanks of fuel. And be sure you're not driving around on 4 low tires.

You need to eliminate if it's the CAI, the cars recent response to the CAI, or if it's something unrelated to the CAI.

And BTW, get a tune. That CAI isn't doing you any favors without a tune.

Don't pay attention to the lame calc on the car. Do the match yourself at each fillup. Know that you have about a 14 gallon tank and write your mileage down. You will most likely see that the computer is atleast a few off.

You also should absolutely get a tune. Nuke is right (almost always is), that CAI won't do much without a tune.
