hhmmmmm, mobile one 5w30, motorcraft filter, catch pan. take off old filter, remove drain plug. fill filter with oil, when all oil drained, put plug back in, fill motor with oil. start and check for leaks. make sure you remove old oil filter gasket.

The 2007 came with an oil change light?
If so, it should tell you in the manual how to reset it. I know that the 2005 and 2006 don't have an oil change light - and if you don't have an oil change light, and have a light on your dash lit up for "oil" it is the idiot light telling you there is a problem.

The 05-10 V6's use 5W30.
Royal Purple (or any other synthetic) is fine but it's a waste of money if you change it before 10,000 miles. Your V6 came from the factory with synthetic blend which is good for up to 7500 miles. Save a few bucks and stick with that at 5000-6000 mile change intervals. At about $15 for 5 qts plus the Motorcraft filter at WallyWorld, you can't go wrong.
And oil changes are easy. I think the last time I paid for an oil change was in 1980-something.
The Mustang oil change reminder light is a little to the left of the compass and outdoor temperature gauge and above the coffee perculator (unless yours came with the standard prophylactic dispenser instead).

5W-30 is now a lower quality than 5W-40.
The numbers dont refer to the quality of
the oil. The #s refer to the VISCOSITY
of the oil at any given outside temperature.
Stick with the 5W-30.
$9 a quart for the RP is a fair market value price.
I dont see the need for the RP, though.
Any good synthetic can be had at the
WalMart for 5 quarts/$22 and a Motorcraft FL-820S
will fit the V6 quite nicely.
There is no oil light reset.
If there was, it would be outlined in the Owners Manual.
Do check for that old oil filter gasket being stuck
to the engine block before installing the new filter.
AND DONT DO THIS...
OR THIS...

Stick with 5W30 semi-synthetic (blend) or full synthetic as recommended for your car. 5W40 will not offer any better protection for the motor and will reduce your gas mileage a bit.
Be sure to apply a bead of oil on the new filter gasket before installing and make sure the old filter gasket did not remain affixed to the engine before installing the new filter.
