Default Finally got a tuner and cai... weird story

I finally got my sct tuner unlocked , it had a crack in the screen sct told me it would be around 60$ something like that. I sent it in not even requesting to fix the screen they did it anyways.
Installed my BBK Cai and called SCT to help me strategy tune my car. Guy on the phone told me to change my shift press on 1,2,3,4,5 to +25 % and he also told me BBK CAI was not supported....... wtff.... i started the car drove it for a little then p0171 "system too lean" called sct back up. A different representative told me SCT had no records of a previous call that i made earlier today. The new tech told me to never mess with Shift Press settings and to just use the preloaded BBK CAI tune. Now i dont have a check engine light thank you SCT!. is VMPTuning a reputable company?

The SCT tunes are lame and their customer support sucks (as you can tell). Get your tunes from Bama or Brenspeed. VMP is decent, too.

I've been happy with BOTH my SCT tuners from VMP. Originally, I had one for my '04 3.9l Mustang and currently have one for the S197.

Are shorty headers capable of bring mpg up a little ? Maybe screamin demon coils and new wires could do the trick for me

The screamin demon coil won't bring the mpg up - stay with the stock one.

Shorty headers will give a little better sound, but not affect mpg either.

How many miles on the car?

Not knocking you but if you wanted gas mileage you shouldn't have bought a Mustang. V6 or V8 at that.

The 4.0 S197 actually doesn't do too bad on fuel... IF you drive like granma.... I've actually eeked out 26mpg with mine.
