Default Fuel filter good deal?

1st: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOTORCRAFT-F...030470&vxp=mtr

just confirming this is the right part for a 2007 auto v6 mustang ?
also i cannot find the cabin air filter part numbers... trying to buy cheap online.

2nd: at 30k miles what should i flush / change? i am a hard driver sometimes but i always let my engine warm up before any hard acceleration. Always change my oil on the 3k mark and never later than that.

3rd: Tranny Flush DIY? possible? what tools do you need ? ive got sockets and such.

I picked up a fuel filter at Autozone for about $6. But feel free to satisfy the "more expensive is better" syndrome.

30k is too early for a tranny fluid change unless it's for the sole intent of changing to a synthetic. A tranny flush at about 60k would be worthwhile if you really are hard in the tranny. I think I've had about 6 cars go over 200k miles and I only serviced the tranny on 2 of them (and both were tow vehicles). Also, you're wasting your money changing even the factory synthetic blend motor oil at 3k miles. But that's your dime again. Other than motor oil, there's nothing else to change except your perception that the car is falling apart unless you do "something"..

And the cabin air filter is also available at most auto parts stores for about $10-$15. Better change that soon. We wouldn't want to breath unfiltered air, as if you had a window open or walked outside...

Sorry for the sarcasm... I just hate to see folks spend their money uselessly, especially when times can be tough and gas is so expensive.

oh no no i thought 13$ was cheap.... i went to oreilly auto parts and they wanted 15$ without tax?...
Ive only done 2 oil changes so far so i guess i should let the oil get more dirty before i change it i hate the new gas prices. but ever since my cai and preload tune im happy with gas. cant wait for my custom tunes from vmptuning.

im just really punctual with things like this because i have a merc with 123k miles and ive heard youve got to use oem quality products. or the car can just break

thanks for your input Nuke i am going to check some local auto part stores and see if their prices are cheaper than online. Thanks again

Perhaps prices on fuel filters went up in the past 3 years... wouldn't suprise me.

Nothing wrong with being punctual but the old 3k mile oil change intervals (as I was brought up with) are a thing of the past. Your '07 came from the factory with Motorcraft synthetic blend and Ford recommends 7500 mile intervals. Personally, I'd go 7500 miles or 6 months on it ONLY if I drove granny and mostly highway. I change the synthetic blend in the wifes '06 V6 at 5000 mile intervals and she has a lead foot. When I drove a lot with my '07 GT I changed full synthetic at about 10k miles but now it's once a year with under 10k miles. Even my tow vehicle gets changed at 8-10k miles on full syn. It's worked for me on numerous cars that I sold after over 200,000 miles and countless others that were over 150,000 miles. And there are many others that are going up tio and beyond 15k miles on full synthetic. And btw, black oil is NOT a sign of oil that is no longer protective. I received oil analysis training a number of years ago and spoke with 3 different reputable oil industry engineers/trainers. Folklore is hard to change.
