I get 15mpg pretty much everytime I fill up.

I have about 50% highway driving the last couple months though, so that puts me around 16-17..

But yeah, 15, city, lead foot, driving like I stole it.

Sounds about right.

For those getting 17 city....you must drive like grannies...

Au Contraire.... and no, not being obstreperous. A lot has to do with conditions, driving habits, etc. Recently, I relocated from Pennsylvania to Forida. I DROVE the Mustang the 1200 miles. Pulling a small utility trailer with an 800# motorcycle on it, myself, 250# of dogs in the back seat and the car packed to the rafters with last-minute STUFF.

First portion of the trip, pursuant to mapquest directions, state roads... and interstate highways I averaged 20mpg. Pretty farking impressive actually.

Fast forward.... to southern interstates where the speed limit is 70mph... and that number dropped to about 16mpg.

Now that I'm in FL most of my driving is CITY. Stop... go.... STUPID long traffic lights and yes... I'm running the A/C a whole HELL of a lot more than I used to... and yeah, I'm getting about 17mpg.

However, on Easter Sunday, we took a trip cross-state... blasting across Alligator Alley at 70mph. Windows up, A/C on. 26mpg.

There are a LOT of variables... oh... and for the most part, I run with the car flashed for 87 Octane "performance".

Around town, I agree... they're quite thirsty. Let 'em air out on the highway though... .much better.

I'm getting 18-20 mostly city driving with dense traffic, 22-25 highway. But I'm sure my 20'' wheels aren't really beneficial for fuel economy

I am avg. 19.3 and do some city driving, mostly hwy at 67 mph. I do have the
3.31:1 gear, I believe it holds me down to 24 mpg hwy.

Actually.... at consistent speeds they're moot... if not perhaps a bit beneficial.... if you think of them as being four flywheels. Stop and go stuff... yeah, killers they are.

On wheels... I've always like my stockers... particularly with the faux spinners in the center. In part, the size and profile were chosen by Ford back then to emulate stylishly... the tires and wheels back in the late 60's. Whilst I've been tempted to change them... now particularly in the flatlands of FLA.... I don't come across any "twisties" that would require the enhanced handling capability they would offer.

:-S I'm worried that the tires on the motorcycle will develop centerline treadwear...

Yeah in the city where I am it's often stop and go traffic. That's why my pony is so thirsty

Seems like I mixed up my numbers, iPhone took imperial gallons for the calc. With US gallons I'm between 14 and 17 mpg like most of the others. Last fill up was even less than 13, but that where a few hot and sunny days, less traffic and having some fun

My overall average is 16.8, after 3 years and 25k miles.

25K miles in 3 years.... Yeah... not too much open road there... when I was commuting, I was rolling on 36K miles in a year. And that's with using the motorcycle in the summer months.

Now? LOL... car sits and sits.... I should fire it up just to blow the dust outta the pipes....
