New gears

I got a 2007 v6 and im thinking about getting ford racing or motive gears. Im not sure if i should get the 4.10 or 3.73 gears so i need some opinions.

If you're planning on doing additional mods to your car besides the gears, it would be better to buy a 8.8" rear. It's more expensive, but it's worth it in the end.

As far as the gears go, i've heard that if you have an AT you should go with 4.10's and if you have a MT, go with the 3.73.

Yea those seem better. Would around $300 be too much to get these gears put in by a mechanic?

I've got motive 4.1s, auto. No problems, 300 is a great price. I got the tlok to go with it. Cai, tune, its almost beastly. If I did it again I'd prolly go with 3.73 for the MPG on those rare days I'm not making someone look a fool

300 is a good price. I have 4.10s and they're fun if you have the tire for them.

If you cant afford the 8.8 but want that "go" before you install the 7.5 3.73s get tlok!!!! Other wise your paying twice the install

Get the 8.8 new takeoff, install will be cheaper or is pretty easy to do yourself, you get a better rear end, the gears, and tlock, no more one wheel burnouts.

i have the motive 4.10's and T-Lok, i haven't had any trouble at all. the driveshafts in our cars vibrate when you get up around 90 mph if you swap the gears. it's fixable with an aluminum driveshaft. with the 4.10's you're looking at 2600rpms@70mph cruising on the highway. and you need to get a tune to adjust your shift points and speedometer. i paid $700 all together for parts and install. with the 93 Hybrid tune from BAMA, i get 25 mpg highway, and about 19 city. i have a heavy right foot and have been averaging about 17.5 mpg all around.
