So I Just removed the....
So I just removed my muffler, and drove it around. It's loud! It turns so much heads, and everyone's always looking at me car! The only problem i'm dealing with now is when I go on a bump, the pipe will move a little and hit anything around it, how can this be fixed? Can I put another hanger to hold it up (as the exhaust isn't holding that part of it)
Also it's just stupid loud, like if I have a girl in my car she'll be so annoyed of the drone. I'm thinking of putting it back on, but what do you guys think? Is it bad to leave it like this? Is it damaging my car? Am I losing MPG/Engine life in general?
Also if i used one of these (http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-...axel-back.html) and put them on my car, would it stay that loud but sound better? It sounds like a ferrari, like it's loud! lol

Yes, the 4.0 with a removed axle back sounds like azz. No, it won't damage your car; only your image. People are looking because they want to see who the azzhole is driving a nice looking, shi**y sounding car.
There are quite a few replacement axlebacks that'll improve the tone but you'll never get the sound of a V8, period. Even going to duals won't gain you much of a sound change than a single on the 4.0 but it WILL be slightly better.
Quite a few here (including my wife's 4.0) have installed a takeoff axleback from a manual GT S197. That axleback has a bit better tone than one from an auto GT (ask Ford, not me). There are many threads on the forum discussing the exhaust options for the 4.0.

I have slp Loudmouths following an h and I love it. Its so loud but its deep and throaty. The idle isn't loud and no drone and you can't hear too mich in tge car so no girl would get annoyed but the people behind you definitely hear you. I got a deal on them tjough thats the only reason i bought them

Put it back on haha. I actually did the same thing. I couldn't even make it around the block before I said no lol.
I've got the dual conversion and got a pair of Magnaflow Axle-Backs (the ones sold on American Muscle). They increased the volume slightly, but gave a nice, deep, throaty sound that isn't annoying on the highways but really sounds nice when you hit it.
Nuke is right, you won't get the V8 sound, but the setup I have is actually pretty darn close...
Go with Magnaflow

If you are looking for a single axleback exhaust, I've read good things about the following:
1. SLP Loudmouths (Streel Legal Performance)
2. FRPP (Ford Racing)
3. Used GT exhaust from a manual (Nuke stated above)
They will NOT get you the V8 sound, however it will be more aggressive sounding than the stock exhaust.
