Default Clutch Bushings - 2005 Mustang V6

I've got a 2005 V6. The bushings for my clutch and brake pedals are shot. Talking to Ford, they don't sell them and I have to buy the entire pedal assembly ($280.00).

Does anyone know a source for just the bushings?

Thanks,
Ryan

Sorry, can't help you. How many miles does your car have?
What are your old bushings doing wrong?

73,000 miles. The clutch pedal feels gritty when I push it in, like it's pivoting on broken plastic.

I got a new clutch at 55k because the slave cylinder went and it wasn't too much more to get a new clutch. Since then I've got this intermitent issue where after driving on the highway for 15 or so miles the clutch is about 4 times harder to push in. The place that did the clutch replaced the master cylinder last time and that fixed it, but Luk won't replace it again unless the bushing is replaced first. Trying to find a way to not spend $280 on a bushing.

Try to find a low mile wreck at a salvage yard maybe?

Wow.... that a slave cyl went at 55k is a bit disturbing.... And I've never heard of the pedal bushing failing before. I've 135K on mine and (touch wood) not had either of those issues.

+1 on finding a lightly used unit. $280 for the assembly though.... I've seen much worse prices on simpler items than that.

My slave cylinder/throw out bearing went out at 65K miles. I had to replace out most of the clutch assembly, except for the master cylinder. I replaced out the slave cylinder, throw out bearing, fly wheel, revised pressure plate and etc.

OUCH! I would wonder about mine... as I procured the car with 53K miles on it... but evidence tells me the clutch, etc. is all original. I have the "helicopter" version after all... and I presume had it ever been changed, that issue would have been resolved pursuant to the design change.

So.... yeah, 133K on the original.

Of course... I'm of the school that "every time you use that clutch is one less time you get to use it." Hence, if I think of it and am not under any pressure to accelerate quickly, I shift sans clutching.
