Are 2005 V6 transmissions in production?
2005 Mustang V6 under warranty needs a new transmission. Dealer says the transmissions are not in production. Is this true? Premium Care warranty requires genuine Ford parts not some aftermarket substitute. What should the dealer do to replace the transmission?
I can't believe that there is not a new transmission somewhere in the continental US that can be shipped to the dealer.

You don't mention if yours is an automatic or a 5 speed. If your warranty insists on genuine Ford parts, that might be a problem. I don't think Ford makes transmissions. I'm not sure about the automatic, but I'm pretty sure the 5 speed is a Tremec. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
