Default Finally! the Spec has come

Well as the title says, my spec 3+ has come in, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Second gear slips terribly so I can't wait to start getting this thing installed, broken in, and back to the track to post some better times. I'll keep everyone posted.

Got one of those sitting on the spare room awaiting the death of the stock clutch in my Snake...let me know how it feels and runs...

will do! might be a while as school starts Monday, and got to put 500 miles on her before I can romp on it. I am gonna start breaking it down tomorrow though!

here's a couple of photos of the disassemble.

well this comes out much easier then the v-8, I didn't have to clock it, just pulled it straight out.

throw out bearing looks good, and no signs of leaks.

stock unit had dust every where!

stock fly wheel burnt and dusty

clutch plate not as bad as I though it would be. very dusty, and seem to have more wear on the out side.

this is a little hose I put on the hydraulic supply line to the throw out bearing, lost one drop of fluid!

this is the worthless pilot bearing puller I borrowed for store x, the hook was really rounded off, and no matter how tight I got it, would slip off the pilot bearing.

so I used a 13mm socket and tapped it out. also if you buy the pilot bearing through a dealership be prepared to spend big bucks, my local wanted 43 dollars, and said I needed a sleeve as well at another 18 dollars. well the sleeve is pressed into the flywheel so your good there, unless you see damage(which is very unlikely).I bought my pilot bearing at store x for 8 dollars.

clutch is in! after 109 miles driven so far I like it. It does have chatter in 1st and reverse, but after some driver adjustment, it's getting better! here's some installation pics, and I'll keep everyone posted about how it works after the 500 break in.
