Default Going dual need help or advice

Hey I recently picked up a pair of GT takeoffs for my V6. I went to a muffler shop to price out what it would be to have them mounted. Since I had seen alot of people post about H pipe or X pipe. I was talking to him about H pipe or X pipe. He told me he would cut the Y pipe and just run them true dual? Can anyone on here help me understand the difference between the 3, if there is any, and what is my best options? I have been trying to pull up different forum threads but havent found any to help best explain this! thanks

Sounds like Voodoo man. Second opinion? I did the v6 mod thing until I spent more than a v8 and I wished I didn't but those light (and you can make em fast with the right mods) v6's are fun.

If you don't want your friends to find out - put a Pro-Box on it. That's an H but where the H pipe would be there's a steel box about the size of a phone book. It gives you that deep rumble like a v8. An X-pipe will rasp like a 3 piston Kia chainsaw. ProBox $299 @AM.
I loved mine but it got hit and I moved on to a 2013 GT/CS, Variable timed cams are the future.

Choose wisely, less yeah be driven mad by the Mods.
If you get a $15K 06 V6 add $12K in mods = $27K then you trade it in for a $37K 5.0.
and get $7-8k in trade. Then if you get $7-8K on the trade for the stock v6 and put $12K down
= $37-12-8=$17K. I bet your payments and ego will be much better.

Lol just put $12,000 down no biggie. People don't mod their cars in anticipation of selling/trading them in and getting a return as a profit or at least I hope not.

OP, this guy is talking about a MAC Pro-Chamber, I don't know what the hell a Pro Box is lol. I ran true duals (divorced duals) on my car for quite sometime and you tend to lose back pressure with a setup like that and you feel it down low. However, the car screamed up top. I would stay away from an X though like mentioned above it sounds like crap.

Check out my channel of some videos with the divorced duals, the older ones that is. I have a different system now.

So what MacPro, Pro Box you get the point. I had a v6 once and it worked great.
Also replace your pony grill and get that Monaco stripe off the side, the car looks
Phat (good) without it, at least mine did.

I also cut the other side exhaust cut-out with a pocket knife. Traced the psg side, measured it out and cut it out. Simple and you can't see any difference unless you get on your belly and get so close you burn your nose on the tailpipe.

I have a pypes x-pipe on mine and I absolutely love it, so does everyone else, I've even had people argue with me saying that there is no way it's a v6.

I have the X pipe and it runs and sounds great. Does it sound like a V8....no. But it does sound great and I like it. I'll get the V8 next, but until then, as long as I like it, that's all that counts. You won't get a true V8 sound out of a V6.

No, as long as your O2 sensors are still intact you won't have any problems.

I was able to convery my 2006 to dual exhaust for close to nothing and it sounds and runs amazing. Let me show you what I did. I already went through this and I know all parts fit up perfectly. I more or less peiced together my own dual exhaust kit.

All parts were purchased from Advanceautoparts.com and discount codes were used which knocked prices down alot!

Dynomax Exhaust Hanger (Quantity 2)
Part No 36444

Walker Pipe-DF Assy (Quantity 1) - This is the mid pipe
Part No 55553

Dynomax Pipe-Dynomax Df (Quantity 1) - This is the X Pipe
Part No 53702

Walker Aluminized Band Clamp - 2-1/4" Butt Joint (Quantity 2)
Part No 33979

Rol Exhaust 2-1/2" Heavy-Duty Muffler Clamp (Quantity 2)
Part No 517212

I spent under $200 for the entire dual exhaust conversion. How about them beans!?!?! Oh and BTW ofcourse you will need a set of GT mufflers. I actually got mine for free from somebody off of craigslist that upgraded to some flowmasters.
