Default Aftermarket Silicone hoses for the V6 4.0 Do They Exist?

Hi All,

I'm about to go nuts and was hoping someone can provide a little help.

I have a coolant leak on my Stang, (06, V6 4.0 convertible). Its at the thermostat housing so I was going to replace the housing and figured while I'm at it I would upgrade the hoses.

I have looked and looked and looked and I can’t seem to find anybody that carries nice aftermarket silicone hoses for my Stang? The only set I’ve managed to find so far is made by Semco. While I want some nice hoses I wasn't prepared to sacrifice my firstborn to get them. I have picked up rumors that there are Hi-Miler and OBX hoses for the V6 4.0, but like Bigfoot, if they exist I can't seem to find them. ?

I’m also looking for the thermostat housing, (upper and lower) and I’ve managed to find some for sale on Ebay. The one I’m inclined to go with is Dorman as they seem to have a good reputation. I’ve tried to find the Motorcraft part, but the few places I’ve found them at are out of stock. I’ve also been told by some places (Napa) that it is a dealer only item – seriously???

Also, Another vendor had a very complete unit that was made by a company called Kortekk and I've never heard of them. I tried researching them and could find very little info.

Is the Dorman a decent brand or should I keep looking, and if so what brand do you guys recommend and more importantly where can I find it?

The last thing I want is to be on the side of the road with steam billowing up from under the hood because I went with a crappy aftermarket part, lol.

Thanks

Gordon

Someone finally made a metal thermostat housing. I haven't heard any feedback from those that bought it, but it's what we have all been asking for.
