Default t5 cluster gear removal t5 help (pics included)

The rest of my transmission parts arrived today and I was ready to start the rebuild, but upon further inspection of my cluster gear I think I'm going to replace that as well.

Problem is I cant remove it from the housing. The dvd from Hanlon motorsports shows it coming out no problem, but mine just seem to have the clearance. It seems to be caught up on that roller bearing that I cut the cage off of, but not sure how to press that off, and then if I do, how to get the new one on and back in

anyone have experience here?

for legacy purposes, I used a bearing clamp (sometimes called bearing puller) found at harbor freight tools. clamped the bearing, rested it on two pry bars to support it off the housing and keep the cluster gear off the bottom of the housing so it had room to be pressed.

I am assuming I have a T5 in my 2006 4.0 if that is the case do all T5 parts interchange with the transmission with the exception on WC and NWC? and if so would I have what would be considered a World Class T5?

If you have a manual transmission, then yes you have a T5.

Ford actually had Tremec make a special version of the T5 for our model, so it's neither WC or NWC the way I see it. However, a WC is very similar to ours and the majority of parts are interchangeable. There are minor differences through out the transmission and some of the gears have a different ratio as well as a different tooth count.

What are you looking to do right now? rebuild? replace it?
