Any brand name 5W-30 will work. With your low mileage, you might want to spend the extra for synthetic. Don't go for a cheaper store brand. As for the filter, I prefer Motorcraft but there are plenty of other good ones out there.

That all depends on what your philosophy is and what you know about today's oils. You car came from the factory with Motorcraft 5W-30 synthetic blend; good for up to about 7500 miles or about 6 months. A good full synthetic is good for 10,000 miles or more and up to about 1 year (but it can be pushed beyond that).

If you're good with Ford's recommended 7500 mile oil change frequency, you can get the Motorcraft blend at Wallyworld. The Motorcraft filter is also good up to that mileage and it did well in testing. If you want to go to extended oil change frequencies, the Mobile1 filter is good to 10k miles or so and the Amsoil filter is rated for 25k miles.

When changed at appropriate frequencies (for that type of oil; dino, blend or full syn), you will see no difference in engine life or performance.

Default Full Synthetic Oil

I prefer full synthetic oil for heat purposes in the summer and gets up into the upper cylinders much fast in our cold winter climate. Plus, reduces friction on internal parts. That's what I have read.
With that note, I spend the extra money on Full synthetic oil.
To each their own as the story goes. With my 06, I change every 10,000 miles.

With the new DI engine technology, which I have on our other car, I follow the OLM and when gets down to 5%, I change the oil and filter

Motorcraft 820S filter. Good prices as walmart ($3.97).

I use a good quality full synthetic, but the motorcraft blend is also a good option as noted.

Mobil 5w-30 full synthetic with Motorcraft 820S filter. Motorcraft filter has the anti-drain back valve the helps prevent dry start ups.

Spend the extra and get full synthetic. It basically pays for itself eventually because you can run it longer. Once you run synthetic though, you're going to have to continue to use it. Don't switch back. Filter doesn't matter too much. Don't get a walmart one and you'll be fine

I'd be picky about the filter. Without naming the bad ones, I'd stick with Motorcraft, Mobil 1, Hastings or Bosch.
