2007 Mustang - Remove Parking Brake Cable Tension Prior to Replacing Rear Calipers?
Hello, all.
I have a 2007 Mustang (base model, 4.0L 5 spd) and have to replace the rear calipers. Having looked at a number of sources, I keep reading that the removal (and reinstallation) of the parking brake cable from/to the calipers is a bit of a headache.
My question is this: Is there a reason why those who do this repair don't reduce/remove the tension in the parking brake cable at the lever? Would it not make sense? Are there any arguments for why someone would not want to do this?
All input is welcome. Thanks!

When I changed the rear pads on my 2008 V6 Mustang I just made sure the parking brake was not activated and used the special tool to wind the caliper piston back.
Then I bled the entire brake system.
I did not remove the parking brake cable.

On a 05+ its easy...its the 99-04 that sucked.
here's how on the 05+ . The first 3 pics illustrate it perfectly.

The main thing as Tradosaurus pointed out is to make sure you don't have the hand brake engaged. Chock the front wheels so the car doesn't roll.
