My mustang was having trouble

Last week, when I was leaving work, my car was stuck in reverse, until I put it in neutral, turned it off and restarted it.

Today, first I noticed that there was a rattle on start up, then just tonight I had turned from going uphill and my car started sounding like it had a rattlecan exhaust, sort of like what most ricer Hondas sound like. Then I tried taking it on a paved county road for drivability testing and the car wouldn't go over 40 mph. So I parked it at the nearest lot and grabbed my flashlight and looked and listened under the hood while it was idling, I didn't see any liquids leaking, or hear an exhaust leak. After restarting the car a few times the problem went away, but I still hear the rattle on start up and I can only hear it coming from the right side of the car.

Not enough info. Manual or auto? Service history? Mileage? Mods?

It's an automatic, I haven't checked its service history yet, and it has 72,000 miles and no modifications

No codes or check engine light too

I figured the rattling noise out, I have a timing chain problem.

So what did you do to correct the rattle and how much did it cost?
