backfiring exhaust sound
my 2005 4.0 mustang makes a crackling sound sort of like if it were backfiring but only when the car barely turns on and sometimes in between shifts at high rpm. it is really noticeable when I barely turn the car on if you rev it a little its pretty loud mostly because it has no mufflers but I would notice it back when it did have mufflers it just wasnt as loud but after the car has been on for a couple of minutes or stops. if you guys know the reason why it does that let me know I don't think its anything bad it sounds pretty nice I just thought it was normal until I head my friends which is basically the same one as mine except his is an 06 without the true dual exhaust but it has flowmasters and his is automatic. again I'm just curious as to why it does that so any info helps thanks

Do you have an H or X pipe?
When I converted to duals I did not have an H or X pipe
and it made a sputtering sound at 675 rpm Idle.
The X pipe got rid of the sputtering sound.
I don't know about backfiring, mine didn't do that.
