My 2010 V6, the gear selector **** (with the chrome button on the side) just comes right off the shaft... it came loose enough that the wire disconnected from the plug that allows you to turn off overdrive.


Is it possible to just replace the top piece, or does the whole shaft underneath have to be changed too?


Anyone else have this problem? Really don't want to spend $500 for all new assembly...but will if I have to!

is there a set screw that holds it on the shaft?

This is very common-- they are really cheap quality (of course)
push the silver thing down,
& there are 2 torx screws
(which may be the problem)
